Polygon counter: triangles, vertices, quads, materials and textures
Count a 3D model's triangles, vertices, quads and n-gons, meshes, materials, draw calls and textures, in your browser. GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, 3MF and PLY. Free, no upload.

In short: drop a 3D model above, with its textures. The tool counts its triangles and vertices, its quads and n-gons (for FBX and OBJ), its meshes, materials, draw calls, textures and their sizes, and its animations, with a per-mesh breakdown. Handy for checking game asset budgets and marketplace requirements. It runs in your browser.
How to count polygons
- Add your model with its texture files, or click Try it with an example (an FBX made of quads).
- Read the counts and the per mesh table.
What each number means
| Count | What it is |
|---|---|
| Triangles | Every face split into triangles, as graphics cards draw them. The fairest number to compare models by. |
| Vertices | The corners a game engine loads. A corner is counted again wherever it needs a different normal or texture coordinate (along hard edges and UV seams), so this is often higher than your modelling app shows. |
| Polygons in the file | FBX and OBJ only: the faces as modelled, with quads, n-gons (5+ sides) and triangles counted separately. |
| Meshes | Separate objects. |
| Materials | Distinct materials. |
| Draw calls | Roughly how many times a game engine draws the model: one per mesh per material it uses. Fewer is faster. |
| Textures | Images used by the materials, with their sizes. |
Polygons, quads and triangles
Modelling apps work in quads (four-sided faces) and sometimes n-gons. Game engines, web viewers and 3D printers split everything into triangles: a quad becomes two, a pentagon three. Marketplaces may quote either. Triangles is the safest comparison; "polygons" in the file tells you how clean the topology is.
GLB, STL, PLY and 3MF store triangles only, so their quads can't be counted.

Frequently asked questions
Is my model uploaded?
No. It's opened and counted in your browser.
Why is the vertex count higher than in Blender?
Blender counts each corner once. Engines duplicate corners on hard edges and UV seams, because each copy needs its own normal or texture coordinate. This tool counts what the engine loads.
My model has too many triangles. What now?
The polygon reducer lowers the count while keeping the shape as close as it can.
Are textures counted in the file size?
This tool counts them, but doesn't weigh the file. The GLB texture extractor lists each texture with its size in bytes.
